By using StolenOrNot (search, reporting, or the contact-relay feature), you agree to these terms and to our Disclaimer. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

StolenOrNot is a free, community-reported registry: anyone can search a serial number, IMEI, VIN, or frame number to see whether it's been reported stolen, and registered users can report their own stolen items. See our Disclaimer for what that does and doesn't mean.

Reporting requires an account, created via a one-time email sign-in link — no password. You're responsible for keeping access to your email address secure, since that's how sign-in works.

Reports must be truthful and submitted in good faith by someone with a genuine basis for believing the item was stolen — typically the owner. Do not submit a report:

• that you know to be false or exaggerated,
• to harass, defame, or retaliate against another person,
• about an item that isn't actually stolen (e.g. a billing or ownership dispute).

We may remove a report and suspend an account at our discretion, including for suspected false or bad-faith reports.

Don't:

• scrape, bulk-download, or automate searches against the service,
• attempt to bypass rate limits or bot-verification,
• use the contact-relay feature to send spam, threats, or harassment,
• upload photos you don't have the right to share, or that depict anyone else without consent.

You retain ownership of anything you submit (report details, photos, messages). By submitting it, you grant StolenOrNot a license to display it as part of the service — including publicly, for approved reports.

The service is provided free of charge, “as is,” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, StolenOrNot and its operator are not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service — see the Disclaimer for more detail specific to search results and reports.

We may update these terms from time to time; the “last updated” date above will change when we do. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
